Our Advice Process
At Russell Van Homrigh Financial Services, we have created a specific advice process to ensure your financial plan is consistent with your current situation, goals and risk profile. We will assist you from the initial meeting ensuring you are completely comfortable with the approach we are undertaking.
Consider us your personal advocate.
We understand that the first step toward planning your financial future is usually the hardest, but regardless of when you begin, the fundamentals remain the same.
Here are the five steps we will adopt together when we start working with you to develop your financial plan.
Assess your situation. This is the most critical step in financial planning, it summarises where you are in relation to:
- Income
- Net Worth
- Cash Flow
- Insurance Policies
- Tax Returns
- Investment Portfolios
- Retirement Plans
- Dependents
Identify your goals. Your goals should be specific and measurable. For instance, at Russell Van Homrigh Financial Services we suggest that couples complete this step together given personal values, attitudes and extended family responsibilities may come into play. Sometimes your partner may have different financial goals than yourself. Other considerations are education for your children, supporting elderly parents, travel etc. If you have a business partner you may like to look at your goals with respect to protecting your business should an unfortunate accident or illness happen to either of you.
Design a Plan. After reviewing your current situation, we can provide recommendations and solutions. These strategies will be structured to meet your personal and/or business financial needs and may include a budget, a savings plan, risk insurance, superannuation advice, a retirement plan and investments.
Implement the Plan. A financial plan is only successful if put into action and monitored consistently. We act as your team and personal advocate helping you reach your goals and objectives. By assisting you throughout the process and working together we can implement a plan that is as personal as YOU.
Review your Plan. Once executed, a financial plan must be reviewed regularly. Factors such as your personal and business financial circumstances, your changing needs; economic, political, legislative and other factors can impact on the suitability of your plan. We will review your plan regularly and together make changes that are needed.
